Despite a large number of gyms, a sedentary lifestyle is gaining popularity in the contemporary world.
What problems are associated with this?
What solutions can you suggest?

Problems associated with sedentary lifestyle:

obesity

problems with backbone (osteoporosis, scoliosis)

Solutions:

promote walking and cycling as safe and attractive alternatives to motorized transport

promote visiting gyms and doing exercises

These days a sedentary lifestyle is becoming more and more popular despite a big number of sport facilities. This essay will discuss the main problems associated with this epidemic and propose some possible solutions to avoid them.

The main problems caused by inactive lifestyle are obesity and various spine disorders. A growing number of body research shows that long periods of physical inactivity raise a risk of becoming overweight. This is because people burn fewer calories and easily gain weight. What’s more, a lot of studies show that so-called ‘sitting disease’ often results in posture and backbone problems. Due to constant sitting, person loses muscle tissue and curves spine, developing numerous spinal diseases. For example, it has been proven that about 80% of people experience backache at least once a week.

In my opinion, the best solution to these problems is promoting active lifestyle. Firstly, millions of people stay less active because they use cars instead of walking. Therefore, an effective way to make people more active is to advertise walking and cycling as safe and attractive alternatives to motorized transport. Moreover, inactive lifestyle is gaining popularity because nowadays a lot of people prefer passive rest to workouts in the gym. And the best way to avoid the hazards of unhealthy living is to obtain a regular dose of physical activity. Thus, promoting gyms and regular exercising would increase the level of activity.

In conclusion, leading a sedentary lifestyle causes a lot of health problems, including obesity and spinal diseases. The most effective solution is to increase the level of fitness among the society by advertising physical activity.

Overpopulation in many major urban centres around the world is a major problem. What are the causes of this? How can this problem be solved?

The population explosion in bigger cities in different parts of the world is a pressing issue. There appear to be three major causes of this, and several possible solutions, as we will explain here.

Firstly, there is an increasing rate of migration from rural, backwater areas to bigger cities, for better opportunities. Due to lack of employment opportunities and amenities in country sides, people are compelled to migrate to urban centers. Secondly, there are few colleges, universities or educational institutions in villages, meaning people have to shift to cities that offer such facilities. Finally, health facilities, better job prospects, and developed infrastructure allures people to settle in urban centers.

Unfortunately, the rapidly growing population in major cities around the world has created various problems, which need to be addressed. To deter the migration from countryside to cities, better infrastructures and facilities should be for village dwellers. Improving hospitals, educational institutions and job opportunities in rural areas by establishing modern hospitals, universities, and companies can ameliorate overcrowding in urbanized areas. Added to that, people should be made aware of health benefits of living country-life. Furthermore, helping farmers to increase their agricultural productivity by providing improved seeds, irrigation facilities, and helping their product to sell in the market to earn the maximum profit will increase their income level. This will aid them to come out of poverty, and enjoy a quality life.

In conclusion, the unmanaged booming population in urban areas is creating huge pollution and problems to city dwellers. To resolve this problem private sectors and the government should coordinate to open up new companies in villages, to provide employment, and develop infrastructures to improve the livelihood of the rural population. Global warming is one of the biggest threats human faces in the 21st century and sea level are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What problems are associate with this and what are some possible solutions.

Global warming is one of the serious problems that mankind is facing these days. This essay discusses the major threats associated with the rising sea levels caused by global warming including flooding and the disappearance of coastal areas. This essay proposes certain appropriate solutions to address the epidemic.

One of the major problems of global warming is flooding. Due to the increase in heat, ice melts at an alarming rate and causes a sudden overflow of water in the form of floods. This results in loss of property, life, and several other valuable things. For example, the recent floods in Japan reported a loss worth 3 million dollars and in addition to that, several people starved. Another major problem is the disappearance of coastal areas. The increased sea levels sink the coastal areas in water. As a result, several people evacuate the coastal areas. Moreover, this results in loss of fish and other sea creatures that inhabit the coastal areas.

In order to address this problem, firstly, the government of every country should come forward to protect the environment from global warming. For example, the United Nations has created an organisation to ensure that every country has its pollution under control. It should be made mandatory for every country to join that organisation. Apart from the efforts of the government, individuals need to play their part in reducing global warming. For instance, they can try to avoid their dependence on cars and use public transport instead, which is environmentally friendly. Companies should try to become more eco-friendly and eliminate the usage of stuff that causes global warming.

To sum up, global warming is a serious problem these days. The resulting rise in sea level can lead to several disasters like floods, extinction of coastal areas, and marine creatures. This problem can be solved through the combined efforts of the government, individuals, and companies. ( 310 words)

Sample 4

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

More and more wild animals are on the verge of extinction and others are on the endangered list.

What are the reasons for this?
What can be done to solve this problem?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

A growing number of wild species are on the brink of extinction and many others are on the endangered list. This essay will suggest that the principal reason for this issue is habitat loss and submit a public awareness program as a viable solution, followed by a reasoned conclusion.

The main reason for the wildlife crisis affecting a plethora of wild animals is the destruction of their natural habitats. Habitat influences biodiversity profoundly. Natural habitat is destroyed because of deforestation, environmental pollution, increased urbanization, and so on, which results in an adverse impact on the animal’s habitat, food cycle, atmosphere and reproduction process. A case in point is North America. Many natural habitats in this region that are significant for wildlife have been ruined since the period of European colonization. Hundreds of thousands of acres of grasslands are gone, 80 per cent of ancient forest in the Southeast has been cut down, and more than 50 per cent of wetlands are destroyed. Thus, the numerical growth of wildlife and their life cycle is disrupted causing the endangerment of wildlife.

Some protective measures, however, should be taken to improve the situation. First of all, governments should wage an aggressive campaign nationwide on a range of environmental issues to raise awareness among the masses. People will know how environmental damages incurred by them can cause habitat loss and the catastrophic effects it brings about. In turn, they will understand the importance of wildlife habitat, and eventually, make an effort to avert environmental damage. Besides, governments ought to allocate more budgets to conserving endangered animals. In addition to this, governments should also legislate stringent laws to punish offenders severely. If these preventive actions are implemented properly, then the extinction caused by human activities can be avoided.

To recapitulate, the principal cause of wildlife extinction is habitat loss by environmental pollution, deforestation, and so forth. However, in order to mitigate the issue, solutions such as an aggressive campaign, strict laws, and allotting more budgets to protecting wildlife, should be obtained.

Or,

The extinction and endangerment of wild animals have become a global issue, which has raised concerns among environmentalists and nature lovers. In this essay, the reasons behind this problem and possible solutions will be discussed.

The primary reason for the extinction of wild animals is human activities. The hunting of animals for their fur, tusks, or meat has been a significant contributor to this problem. For example, the demand for ivory in Asian countries has led to a significant increase in elephant poaching in Africa, causing a sharp decline in their population. Moreover, human encroachment into wildlife habitats, deforestation, pollution, and climate change have caused further harm to the natural habitats of these animals. The expansion of human settlements and the construction of roads have also disrupted the migration and movement of wildlife.

To mitigate this problem, there are several steps that can be taken. Firstly, the government should enforce strict laws against illegal hunting and poaching of animals. Those who violate these laws should be held accountable for their actions. Secondly, there should be efforts to protect wildlife habitats and reduce deforestation. The government should also implement measures to control pollution and climate change, which negatively impact wildlife. Additionally, the public needs to be educated on the importance of wildlife conservation, and the harm caused by human activities to these animals.

In conclusion, the extinction and endangerment of wild animals have occurred mainly due to human activities, including hunting, deforestation, pollution, and climate change. To solve this problem, governments and individuals must take action to protect wildlife habitats and enforce laws against illegal hunting and poaching. Only then can we hope to preserve the world’s diverse and unique wildlife for future generations to enjoy.

 Sample 5

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

In recent years, many small local shops have closed because customers travel to large shopping centres or malls to do their shopping.

Is this a positive or a negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

In today's society, shopping is becoming an increasingly important aspect of daily life. In many cities, large shopping centres and malls have been built, attracting a significant number of customers, causing the closure of small local shops. Although some people may view this as a negative trend, I firmly believe that it is a positive development for several reasons.

First and foremost, shopping centres and malls offer customers a wide variety of products under one roof. They have a diverse range of shops, from clothing to electronics, and restaurants, providing a one-stop-shop for all of their needs. This saves customers time and effort in travelling from one shop to another. In contrast, small local shops typically offer a limited selection of goods and services, which may not meet the diverse needs of modern consumers.

Moreover, shopping centres and malls offer a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience. They are usually air-conditioned and provide a range of facilities such as clean restrooms, seating areas and entertainment, which can make shopping a more enjoyable experience. On the other hand, small local shops often lack these facilities, making shopping a less comfortable and enjoyable experience. In addition, large shopping centres can provide many new jobs for the community, boosting the local economy. Furthermore, they can attract tourists from other regions or countries, generating more income for the city.

In conclusion, the trend of customers shopping from large shopping centres and malls is a positive development. These places provide a wide variety of products and services, a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience, and help to stimulate the growth of the economy. Therefore, it is essential for city planners and policymakers to support the development of large shopping centres and malls in the community.

Sample 6

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

An increasing number of professionals, such as doctors and teachers, are leaving their own poorer countries to work in developed countries.

What problems does this cause?

What solutions can you suggest to deal with this situation?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Brain drain has been in existence since the early 1950s. The numbers continued to increase steadily, and the situation has not reversed, which is why it has become a serious concern for developing countries now. Loss of skilled human resources will weaken the economy, which will lead to other problems like poverty, unemployment,  social unrest, and in some extreme cases, create situations of war. Skill retention can be done by recognising and rewarding the meritorious lot, increasing the pay scale, and enabling research opportunities alongside work.

Poor countries will become poorer with the migration of skilled workers. The doctor to population ratio recommended by WHO is 1:1000. Underdeveloped countries will be unable to achieve this, and the death rate will continue to increase due to a lack of proper treatment. Many students will opt out of school due to the lack of good teachers. The country will fail to produce talented individuals due to the poor quality of education. This will lead to the mass production of unskilled human resources who may not help in improving the economy of the country. Poor economic conditions, coupled with unhealthy living, will exacerbate poverty, lead to unemployment and ultimately disintegrate the nation.

Skill retention can be done in several ways. Poor countries receive considerable foreign aid which could be channelised in positive ways. As a first step, the government should reward the deserving candidates with scholarships and increase facilities for research-oriented activities. Secondly, the pay scale should be increased for doctors and teachers, and the work environment should be made fair and transparent. People who perform well in their respective fields of study should be honoured with awards and incentives. The secret is to make the right people happy.

In conclusion, it is indeed a significant loss for the country to become deprived of its skilled people. But it should also be noted that they migrate because of a lack of opportunities and recognition. The government should step in and create an environment conducive to growth and development.

Sample 7

The world has many towns and cities constructed in previous centuries that were more suitable and livable for people in those times than they are now.

What problems will this cause?

What can be done to solve these problems?

These days, there exist numerous towns and cities that were constructed centuries ago. While these places were once considered livable, they often face challenges in meeting the needs and expectations of contemporary society that can only realistically be resolved by local authorities.

One of the primary challenges associated with old towns and cities is outdated infrastructure and limited accessibility. Many of these places were designed before the advent of private vehicles and modern transportation systems. Consequently, narrow streets, lack of parking facilities, and insufficient public transportation options pose significant challenges for mobility and convenience. Similarly, outdated sewage and waste management systems may not be equipped to handle the needs of a larger population, leading to environmental and health hazards. One well-known example of this would be in developing cities such as Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam where older buildings that collapse are common and there are geographical challenges that limit the development of other areas. Since local authorities have few options, this means many less privileged residents must live in conditions that are not ideal.

To overcome these challenges, a comprehensive revitalization plan is crucial. Local governments should invest in infrastructure upgrades, such as widening roads, improving public transportation networks, and implementing smart traffic management systems. Additionally, the integration of sustainable solutions, including renewable energy sources and eco-friendly waste management systems, can contribute to the long-term livability of these areas. By prioritizing infrastructure development and accessibility enhancements, old towns and cities can adapt to modern demands without compromising their historical integrity. Local governments can also, in collaboration with residents and stakeholders, organize cultural events, festivals, and initiatives to celebrate the heritage of these areas. This holistic support will prolong and support revitalization efforts long-term.

In conclusion, by adopting a balanced approach to preservation, investing in infrastructure and accessibility, and fostering local engagement, older cities can overcome inherent challenges and regain their livability. Only through such concerted efforts can old towns and cities be restored and cherished for generations to come.

 Sample 8

Eco-tourism often involves visiting remote and fragile ecosystems, which raises concerns about the impact on local cultures and indigenous communities.

What problems can this cause?

How can these problems be resolved?

Increased awareness among people about environmental issues afflicting the globe has now spurred several countries to promote environmentally friendly tourism, which normally pivots around people exploring places located in far-flung regions or environmentally vulnerable spots. However, this growing trend has now given rise to apprehensions about its influence on indigenous people and their unique cultures. While eco-tourism could lead to the loss of biodiversity and erode indigenous cultures, it could be mitigated through a stringent legal framework and sustained awareness campaigns.

One of the discernible negative ramifications of eco-tourism is the extinction of species belonging to both flora and fauna. Since eco-tourism remains profit-driven and concomitantly encourages unsustainable human activities in environmentally fragile regions, it would easily drive a raft of species onto the verge of extinction. Also, it could pave the way for disharmony and chaos among the local population. With environmental-friendly tourism creating enough space for visitors to interact with local people who have their own distinctive religions, cultures, and languages and well-established social norms, it would put the indigenous cultures not only at risk of losing their sheen but also of their total annihilation. For example, several indigenous tribal communities inhabiting remote places located in Andaman and Nicobar Islands have perished over the years, largely owing to the unregulated eco-tourism promoted by the state administration with an eye on garnering profits.

However, the repercussions associated with eco-tourism could be effectively tackled through pragmatic measures. Firstly, by enacting strict laws with a thrust on regulating eco-tourism and ensuring its impeccable enforcement, governments could keep its negative fallout on biodiversity in environmentally fragile regions at bay. Secondly, with sustained awareness campaigns to disseminate information about the detrimental impact of environmentally destructive practices in biodiversity hotspots among people, state authorities could instill in visitors the value of conserving and preserving the environment through their adherence to proven sustainable living practices.

To conclude, even though the eco-tourism promoted by countries across the globe exacerbates the rate of extinction of species inhabiting fragile environments and causes the elimination of the cultures of local populations,it could be addressed through measures involving a robust legal framework and raising awareness.

Sample 9

In some parts of the world traditional festivals and celebrations have disappeared or are disappearing.

What problems is this causing?

What measures could be taken to counter this situation?

Traditional festivals and celebrations are an important part of cultural heritage, providing a connection to the past and a sense of community for present-day generations. However, in some parts of the world, these events are disappearing, and it is important to understand why this is happening and what measures can be taken to ensure their survival.

One of the main reasons for the decline of traditional festivals is modernisation and urbanisation. As communities become more focused on economic development and modern ways of life, traditional festivals may fall by the wayside. Additionally, globalisation has led to the spread of new cultural influences, which can sometimes overshadow or diminish the importance of traditional events.

To ensure that traditional festivals and celebrations do not disappear, a number of measures can be taken. Firstly, it is important to raise awareness and promote education about the cultural and historical significance of these events. This can be done through cultural festivals, exhibitions, and educational programs, which can help to promote a greater understanding of the value of traditional festivals.

Another important measure is to involve younger generations in the planning and execution of traditional festivals. This can help to preserve the cultural traditions by passing them down to future generations, thus ensuring their continued relevance. Another option is for governments and local authorities to play a role in preserving traditional festivals by providing funding and support for cultural activities and protecting cultural heritage.

In conclusion, the disappearance of traditional festivals and celebrations is a complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. By raising awareness, involving younger generations, and providing government support, it is possible to ensure that these cultural traditions are preserved for future generations. (280 words)

Sample 10

A rise in the standard of living in a country often only seems to benefit cities rather than rural areas.

What problems can this cause?

How might these problems be reduced?

The improvement in the standard of living is a significant indicator of a nation’s progress. However, it often favours urban areas over rural regions, leading to economic inequality, inadequate infrastructure and services, and brain drain. This essay will discuss the problems caused by these disparities and propose strategies to mitigate them.

The urban-rural divide results in increased economic disparities between urban and rural areas. Consequently, rural regions face limited job prospects, lower income levels, and higher poverty rates. This perpetuates social and economic inequalities within the country. Another consequence of the urban-rural divide is the inadequate provision of essential services and infrastructure in rural areas. While urban areas receive greater investments in transportation networks, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions, rural regions suffer from a lack of quality infrastructure. The urban-rural divide also gives rise to a phenomenon known as brain drain, where talented individuals from rural areas migrate to cities in search of better opportunities. Consequently, this exacerbates the developmental gap between urban and rural regions, depriving rural areas of essential talent.

To address the urban-rural divide, governments should leverage information and communication technology (ICT) to bridge the gap. This includes providing rural areas with broadband connectivity, online education, telemedicine, and e-commerce platforms. Additionally, by encouraging rural-urban partnerships, fostering knowledge exchange, and attracting investments in rural enterprises, governments can foster balanced and inclusive growth. By implementing these strategies, governments can effectively reduce the disparities in the standard of living between urban and rural areas, ensuring equitable progress and improving the lives of people in both regions.

In conclusion, addressing the urban-rural divide requires a comprehensive approach. Governments should prioritize promoting rural industries, improving infrastructure and services, and providing equal access to education and healthcare. Leveraging information and communication technology (ICT) can also play a crucial role in bridging the gap between urban and rural areas. By implementing these strategies, societies can work towards reducing disparities in the standard of living and achieving inclusive progress. It is essential for policymakers to take proactive measures to ensure a balanced and equitable development across urban and rural regions.

Sample 11

Nowadays more and more older people who need employment compete with the younger people for the same jobs. What problems does this causes? What are the solutions?

OR

Nowadays, more and more older people compete with younger people for the same jobs. What are the reasons for this? What would you suggest as a solution?

Those seeking a job are now facing stiffer competition from the younger generation. This essay will suggest that the main problem this causes is higher poverty among older people and propose lowering the retirement age as a possible solution, followed by a reasoned conclusion.

Increased competition from today’s youth has left many over the 50s in poverty. If a young and old person applies for the same job, it is often the case that the younger individual will have more qualifications and may also be willing to work for less money, leaving many seniors without work and ‘left on the scrap heap’. For example, a recent survey showed that since the financial crisis in 2008, fuel and food poverty has increased by 82% amongst the aged. Despite this, many of the older generation own their own property and have large savings and therefore, are somewhat insulated from these troubles.

The most viable answer would be to drop the age of retirement. Most industrialized countries could afford to lower this from 65 to 60, thus allowing millions of people to simply retire and be looked after by the state. For instance, Finland recently decreased the retirement age for all government employees to free up more jobs for their graduates. However, this initiative may be very unpopular with the business community, who would have to pay for many of these early retirements.

In summary, the increased rivalry between young and old in the job market has resulted in the impoverishment of many of our older citizens and countries should consider reducing the age of retirement to solve this.

Sample 12

Many people who care for the elderly do not have enough time to look after them.

What are the problems related to this?

What are some possible solutions?

The caretakers of elderly individuals are often overworked and feel they are neglecting their duties. In my opinion, this hurts quality of care and the best solution is comprehensive, societal reform.

The main issues resulting from lack of time to look after the elderly have to do with poor care. A nurse with several patients to visit, who might all require around the clock care, must prioritise. The neglected patients are then more likely to develop bed sores, poor nutrition, and depression. In more extreme situations, patients with dementia or life-threatening conditions for example, there may be serious injury. An Alzheimer’s patient may wander out of the house, get lost and not be able to find their way home. A critically ill patient may need urgent care and not be able to contact the hospital in an emergency.

These problems can be partly remedied if society felt responsible for the elderly. There are examples of nations, chiefly Asian countries like Japan, where old people are highly respected. This permeates all levels of society and translates to children and grandchildren being more willing to take on the burden of care, as well as more attentive doctors and better government-funded social welfare programs. All these measures combined not only have a tangible, daily impact but also shift the societal mindset from considering the elderly a nuisance to regarding them as a milestone in life that all must pass through, deserving of respect.

In conclusion, the problems related to limited opportunities for looking after the elderly concern their level of care and can be combatted with a number of measures permeating multiple layers of society. Though unlikely, these reforms would evidence a core of human compassion.

Sample 13

More and more people in developing countries are purchasing cars for the first time.

What problems does this cause?

What do you think are the possible solutions?

The demand of cars by first buyers in developing nations is increasing over time. The principal problems this causes are pollution and traffic congestion, and the most viable solution is for governments to improve the public transport system.

The primary issue developing countries face when their citizens start to buy cars is increased pollution. This occurs as a result of the polluted gases generated by cars. The greater number of vehicles on the road is also responsible for a rise in traffic jams. This is because of the limitations on road infrastructure and the poor design of cities. For example, highways in Colombia are narrow and single lanes are prominent even in the largest cities.

A solution to these problems is for governments to invest funds in public transport, and make it comfortable, accessible and affordable. This would solve the problems by discouraging individuals from acquiring a car and instead opting for public transport options since the use of public transport would become more convenient. For example, Australia’s buses and trains are efficient, clean, and relatively cheap; itineraries are always updated and drivers are always on time, there is air conditioning and sometimes people can even find phone plugs.

In conclusion, not only do car purchases affect the flow of traffic, as many more cars join the road, but they also impact the quality of air. Should governors of developing countries improve public transport, people would rather use public transport since it would be way more convenient.

Sample 14

Many people try to balance work and other parts of their life. However, this is very difficult to do.

What are the problems associated with this?

What is the best way to achieve a better balance?

These days, people tend to work with intensity as they aspire to a successful career. However, apart from work, life includes other aspects, so it can be very challenging for one to strive for a balance between professional and personal life. This essay aims to examine the two major issues that often stem from this social dysfunction and offer the most plausible solution.

It goes without saying/ It is apparent that these issues are health concerns and breakdown of family relations/ Lack of strong family bonds), which are linked to an excessive workload. Firstly, taking too many responsibilities of a job that are higher than one's available time and ability can lead to lack of rest affecting negatively mental and physical wellness. For example, workers who are often inundated with office duties may not get enough sleep and are more likely at risk of/ are at a higher risk of depression and cardiovascular diseases. Secondly, when individuals opt to spend most of the day in the workplace, they might hardly see their loved ones. Consequently, a poor interaction with family members would occur, facilitating weakening the ties. Parents that overcommit to work are a good case in point. Being absent from home regularly, they would rarely communicate with their offspring and two sides would not be close and understand each other as well.

Nevertheless, this scenario could be treated/ remedied/ mitigated/tackled by arranging a realistic timetable comprising activities in both personal and professional life. In other words, people should note down things that need to be done in order of priority and then limit time to complete each one, so that they can allocate their resources accordingly. This could not only help a person stay satisfied at work, but also have time to relax, recharge the batteries and strengthen the relationships at home. For example, employees can use applications to make a to-do list and set time for it. Because if they are put under pressure to finish a task in a certain amount of time, they will likely focus on truly important things and work more efficiently, thus, would reach targets in the company on the dot easier and get back to home earlier.

In conclusion, although there are many problems related to balancing different plates of work, family and other things, it can still be achievable by designing a suitable schedule.

Sample 15

Living in large cities today poses many problems for people.

What are these problems?

Should governments encourage more people to live in smaller towns?

Nowadays, the majority of world population is living in urban areas. While many people associate city life with prosperity, urban dwellers actually have to experience various difficulties, including crime and environmental pollution. From my perspective, governments should use counter-urbanizations a measure to ease the aforementioned problems.

One of the common issues with living in a city is crime. For a violent crime to occur, there must be a culprit and a victim. In a highly populated area, the risk of encountering a mob is much higher than that of a small town. Additionally, if the culprit feels protected by the anonymity that a large city provides, he may commit more wrongdoings. Furthermore, air pollution is also a prevalent issue in major cities. Surface transportation is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions, which cause respiratory problems to the people. This problem is exacerbated by the sheer number of vehicles commuting daily in the city.

In my opinion, to tackle both the issues above, governments should promote the migration from urban areas to rural ones. As the population density of a metropolitan area is reduced, so do crimes and air pollution. However, city dwellers have their reasons to stay in urban places, such as to enjoy education and job opportunities. This is why governments need to step in because only they can introduce rural development policies. If countryside areas have better infrastructures, people will find less incentive to live in big cities.

In conclusion, crime and air pollution are two of the various problems of urban life. I believe that urban-to-rural migration, promoted by governments, is an appropriate solution for those issues.
