PTE Reading Collocations

Definition of Collocations

Collocations are natural combinations of words that frequently occur together in English.
They sound correct to native speakers because they are commonly used together.

Example:

·         make a decision (natural)

·         do a decision (sounds incorrect)


Types of Collocations + Examples

1. Verb + Noun

·         make a mistakeI made a mistake in the exam.

2. Noun + Noun
