Subject: Urgent Need for Better Waste
Management in Chitwan
Respected
Editor,
I am writing to express my concern over the
growing issue of waste management in Chitwan. Despite being one of the most
rapidly developing cities in Nepal, Bharatpur and its surrounding areas
continue to struggle with proper garbage disposal. The streets, rivers, and public
areas are often littered with unmanaged waste, posing serious health and
environmental risks.
While the local authorities have made efforts
to implement waste collection services, they remain inconsistent and
ineffective. The lack of proper recycling initiatives further exacerbates the
problem. Public awareness campaigns and strict policies on waste disposal are
essential to tackle this issue.
I urge the municipal authorities to take
immediate action by improving waste management infrastructure, enforcing
stricter waste disposal regulations, and encouraging community participation. A
cleaner Chitwan is not just a necessity; it is our responsibility.
Sincerely,
Bikash Bhandari

Subject: Rising Air Pollution in
Kathmandu – A Growing Health Crisis
Dear
Sir/Madam,
Through your esteemed newspaper, I want to
highlight the alarming rise in air pollution in Kathmandu. The capital city has
frequently ranked among the most polluted cities in the world, posing severe
health risks to residents. Thick smog, dust, and vehicle emissions have led to
increased cases of respiratory diseases, allergies, and reduced quality of
life.
Despite numerous discussions and policy
drafts, little has changed in terms of effective implementation. Uncontrolled
urbanization, excessive vehicular emissions, and unmanaged construction
activities continue to worsen the situation. Urgent action is needed, including
stricter emissions regulations, promotion of electric vehicles, expansion of
green spaces, and efficient public transportation systems.
The government must prioritize this issue
before the air in Kathmandu becomes unbreathable. I appeal to concerned
authorities and citizens alike to take this matter seriously and work together
for a cleaner and healthier capital.
Sincerely,
Bikash Bhandari
Kathmandu
