An IELTS Problem–Solution Essay is a type of IELTS Writing Task 2 essay where you are asked to:

1.      Identify problems related to a given issue.

2.      Suggest solutions to tackle those problems.

The essay must be well-structured, logical, and balanced. You should discuss both the problems and their solutions in detail, supporting your points with examples, facts, or personal experiences.


Structure (Paragraph-wise)

1.      Introduction

·         Paraphrase the question.

·         State that you will discuss the main problems and suggest possible solutions.

2.      Body Paragraph 1 (Problems)

·         Explain the first problem with details/examples.

·         Explain the second problem with details/examples.

3.      Body Paragraph 2 (Solutions)

·         Suggest the first solution with explanation.

·         Suggest the second solution with explanation.

4.      Conclusion

·         Summarize the main problems and solutions.

·         Give a final opinion/hope for the future.

Nowadays, more and more people are facing health problems due to eating fast food. What are the problems associated with this, and what solutions can be suggested?

Sample Answer (Paragraph-wise)

Introduction:
In recent years, the consumption of fast food has increased significantly, leading to various health issues. This essay will discuss the major problems caused by eating fast food and propose effective solutions to overcome them.

Body Paragraph 1 (Problems):

One serious problem linked to fast food is obesity. Junk food contains high amounts of fat, sugar, and salt, which contribute to weight gain and other chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart problems. Another issue is that fast food culture promotes unhealthy eating habits among young people.
