Practice Plan (2025 Edition)

about 60–75 minutes
Goal: Improve pronunciation, fluency, response structure, and confidence
in all speaking question types — including Respond to a Situation and Summarize
Group Discussion.
DAY 1 – Orientation +
Fluency Warm-Up
Focus: Understand format + build natural speaking
flow.
- Tasks:
- Read
Aloud (5 texts)
- Repeat
Sentence (10 items)
- Activity: Record
yourself on your phone/laptop.
- Goals:
- Speak
continuously without long pauses (>3 sec).
- Maintain
clear pronunciation.
- Self-check: Rate
fluency (1–5). Identify hesitations.
DAY 2 – Read Aloud
Mastery
Focus: Pronunciation, intonation & stress.
- Tasks: 10
Read-Aloud passages (20–60 words each).
- Techniques:
- Mark
pauses / stresses before speaking.
- Practice
tongue-twisters for clarity.
- Tip: Pause
briefly at punctuation. Emphasize content words.
DAY 3 – Repeat Sentence
Practice
Focus: Short-term memory & rhythm imitation.
- Tasks: 15 short
audio sentences (use PTE mock audio or YouTube practice sets).
- Steps:

immediately after the beep.
3.
Review
recording for missing words.
- Goal: Capture 80%
of content words correctly.
DAY 4 – Describe Image
Focus: Structure & content vocabulary.
- Tasks: 6 images
(graphs, maps, process, flowchart, photo).
- Template:

features/trends
– “The highest… The lowest…”
3.
Comparison/conclusion – “Overall, it indicates…”
- Tip: Use linking
phrases (whereas, in contrast, similarly).
- Goal: Speak for
35–40 sec with logical flow.
DAY 5 – Retell Lecture
Focus: Note-taking & summarizing.
- Tasks: 3 short
academic audios (~60–90 sec).
- Steps:
- Write
keywords (topic + 3–4 main points).
- Retell
in 40 sec using: The lecture was about…
- Goal: Capture
main ideas, not every detail.
- Avoid: Reading
from notes word-by-word.
DAY 6 – Answer Short
Question + Fluency Mix
Focus: Quick thinking & pronunciation clarity.
- Tasks:
- 20
Short Questions (e.g., “What device do you use to take photos?”).
- 5
mixed tasks (RA, RS, DI).
- Tip: Give 1–2-word
clear answers.
- Goal: Respond
instantly (≤1 sec delay).
DAY 7 – NEW TASK 1:
Respond to a Situation
Focus: Context interpretation & natural tone.
- Tasks: 6
situational prompts (apology, advice, complaint, workplace, etc.).
- Template:

summary.
- Tasks: 2 audio
discussions (2–3 min each).
- Steps:
- Note
speakers’ names or numbers + main ideas.
- Summarize
using:
“The discussion was about… One speaker said… Another added… In conclusion…” - Goal: 90–120 sec
fluent summary covering all views.
DAY 9 – Full Speaking
Mock Test
Focus: Time management + exam rhythm.
- Tasks:

- Content:
relevance, coverage, logical order.
- Re-practice
3 weakest tasks
from previous days.
Bonus Daily Warm-Ups
(2–3 min before practice)
- Read aloud a
random news paragraph for 1 minute.
- Describe
anything near you in English.
- Record one
30-sec “self-talk” about your day.
