1. Introduction (5–7 seconds)

“The image shows [type of image – e.g., a line graph / bar chart / process diagram / map / photograph] illustrating [main topic or time period if available]. It provides information about [key subject or variables].”

Examples:

  • “The image shows a bar chart illustrating the population growth in different countries between 2000 and 2020.”
  • “The diagram shows the process of water purification.”

2. Main Features or Trends (15–20 seconds)

“Overall, it is clear that [general trend or key observation]. The highest value can be seen in [category], whereas the lowest is observed in [category]. [Another feature] also shows a noticeable increase/decrease/variation.”

Useful Vocabulary:

  • Increase/decrease verbs: rise, grow, climb, decline, drop, fall, remain stable
  • Comparatives: higher than, lower than, more significant, less common
  • Linkers: whereas, while, in contrast, similarly, on the other hand, compared to

Examples:

  • “The number of tourists increased steadily, whereas the local population remained almost stable.”
  • “Sales of smartphones were much higher than those of tablets throughout the period.”

3. Comparison & Conclusion (8–10 seconds)

“In comparison, [contrast two features briefly]. Overall, the image indicates that [main conclusion or pattern], suggesting [implication or summary].”

Examples:

  • “In comparison, rural areas experienced less growth than urban areas. Overall, it indicates a clear upward trend in population density.”
  • “Overall, the process demonstrates how raw materials are converted into final products through several stages.”

Speaking Tip

  • Aim for 35–40 seconds of fluent speech.
  • Focus on key trends or stages, not small details.
  • Use clear transitions: “Firstly… Secondly… Finally…” or “On the other hand…”
  • Maintain steady pace and confidence — avoid long pauses.

Overall, it indicates a significant population gap between the most and least populated nations.


2. Line Graph

4. Process Diagram
