WRITING (WITH SAMPLE ANSWERS)
Below are SEE-style free writing questions with sample
answers.
1. Writing a Short Paragraph
(About 120 words)
Q.
Write a paragraph on “The Importance of Reading Books.”
Sample Answer:
Reading
books is one of the most valuable habits a person can develop because it plays
a significant role in shaping our knowledge, thoughts, and overall personality.
Books are considered lifelong companions that never betray us. They provide us
with information, entertainment, guidance, and inspiration. Through reading, we
can explore different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles from around the
world without ever leaving our room. Books help improve our vocabulary,
grammar, and communication skills, which are essential for academic success.
They also stimulate our imagination and creativity by allowing us to visualize
events, characters, and ideas in our minds. Moreover, reading develops critical
thinking skills because it encourages us to analyze, question, and understand
various situations and perspectives. In a world heavily influenced by mobile
phones and social media, many students are losing the habit of reading, which
affects their ability to focus and concentrate. However, regular reading helps
sharpen memory, reduce stress, and improve mental health. Non-fiction books
provide practical knowledge and life lessons, while storybooks teach morality,
empathy, and emotional intelligence. Reading also strengthens discipline and
patience, as it requires quiet time and consistent effort. Whether it is for
education, entertainment, or personal growth, reading books always adds value
to our lives. Therefore, everyone—especially students—should develop the habit
of reading regularly. It not only helps in academic achievement but also
enriches our minds, broadens our horizons, and prepares us for a better,
meaningful future.
2. Essay Writing (About 200 words)
Q.
Write an essay on “Pollution and Its Effects.”
Pollution and Its Effects
Introduction
Pollution
has become one of the most alarming environmental problems in the modern world.
It refers to the contamination of the natural environment by harmful substances.
Rapid urbanization, industrial growth, population increase, and careless human
activities are the major causes of pollution. This problem affects not only
human beings but also animals, plants, and the entire ecosystem. If pollution
continues to rise, the earth will soon become an unhealthy place to live.
Therefore, understanding pollution and its effects is crucial for the survival
of all living beings.
Body
Paragraph 1: Types and Causes of Pollution
There
are several types of pollution, but the most common ones are air, water, soil,
and noise pollution. Air pollution occurs mainly due to smoke from factories,
vehicles, and the burning of plastic and fossil fuels. Water pollution is
caused by dumping sewage, industrial waste, plastics, and chemical fertilizers
into rivers and lakes. Soil pollution happens when harmful pesticides, chemical
fertilizers, and non-biodegradable waste mix with the land. Noise pollution
results from loud music, vehicle horns, and machinery. All these forms of
pollution are caused by irresponsible human behavior and lack of environmental
awareness.
Body
Paragraph 2: Effects of Pollution
The
effects of pollution are extremely harmful. Air pollution leads to respiratory
diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, and lung cancer. Water pollution causes
water-borne diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and skin infections. Soil
pollution reduces the fertility of land, affecting agricultural production and
food quality. Noise pollution disturbs mental health and causes stress,
anxiety, and hearing problems. Pollution also harms wildlife, destroys
ecosystems, contributes to global warming, and accelerates climate change. If
not controlled, these effects could threaten life on earth.
Conclusion
In conclusion, pollution is a serious global issue that demands
immediate attention. Governments, organizations, and individuals must work
together to reduce pollution by planting trees, using public transport,
managing waste properly, and promoting eco-friendly habits. Protecting the
environment is our shared responsibility for ensuring a healthy and sustainable
future.

4. Story Writing (Based on Outline)
Q.
Write a story based on the following outlines:
“A shepherd boy… watches sheep…
feels bored… shouts ‘Wolf! Wolf!’… villagers come… no wolf… repeats several
times… one day real wolf comes… boy shouts… villagers don’t believe… wolf
attacks sheep… moral.”
The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf
Once there was a shepherd boy who lived in a small village. Every
day he took his sheep to a hillside for grazing. While watching over the sheep,
he often felt bored because he had nothing interesting to do. One day, just to
have some fun, he shouted loudly, “Wolf! Wolf!” The villagers heard his cry and
ran up the hill to help him. But when they arrived, they found no wolf, and the
boy laughed at them for believing him.
The boy repeated this trick several times.
Each time, the villagers rushed to help, only to be mocked by the boy. They
were angry but chose to forgive him because he was still a child.
One day, a real wolf appeared and began to
attack the sheep. The boy became frightened and shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Please
help me!” But the villagers did not believe him anymore, thinking he was joking
again. As a result, the wolf killed many of his sheep, and the boy sadly
realized the consequences of lying.
Moral: No
one believes a liar, even when he speaks the truth.
