a. Do you agree that couples who laugh together, stay together? Is it important for married couples to have the same sense of humour?

I strongly agree that couples who laugh together tend to stay together because laughter is a powerful bonding tool. Sharing a sense of humour allows partners to connect emotionally and reduces stress, making their relationship stronger. Couples who can joke, tease, or find amusement in ordinary situations often experience a lighter and happier married life. Laughter fosters understanding, eases conflicts, and helps partners appreciate each other’s quirks.

Having a similar sense of humour is important, though not absolutely necessary. When couples laugh at similar things, they create shared memories and inside jokes, which strengthen emotional intimacy. For instance, a couple who enjoys witty banter or playful teasing can handle stressful situations with a positive attitude. However, it is also possible for partners to have different humour styles, as long as there is mutual respect and tolerance. The key is that both partners enjoy each other’s company and can find joy in the relationship, even if they laugh at different things.

Moreover, humour can act as a stress reliever. Life is full of challenges, and couples who can laugh together are better equipped to face difficulties. Laughing together encourages a sense of teamwork and makes daily life more enjoyable. It also reflects emotional maturity, as couples who can laugh at themselves and with each other often have less serious conflicts.

In conclusion, while couples do not need to have identical senses of humour, sharing laughter is highly beneficial for marital satisfaction. Humor strengthens relationships, creates positive experiences, and allows couples to maintain harmony and resilience over the years.


b. Some people believe that sometimes crying is good for health. Do you believe it?

I believe that crying is sometimes beneficial for both emotional and physical health. Crying is a natural human response to strong emotions such as sadness, grief, frustration, or even extreme happiness. When a person cries, it helps release pent-up emotions, providing psychological relief. Bottling up emotions can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression. Therefore, crying occasionally allows individuals to process their feelings in a healthy way.

From a biological perspective, crying also helps the body relieve stress. Emotional tears contain stress hormones and other toxins. When we cry, these substances are expelled from the body, reducing stress levels and promoting relaxation. Many psychologists argue that crying acts as a form of emotional detox, calming the nervous system and helping individuals feel lighter after an emotional release.

Additionally, crying can improve social connections. When we cry in front of trusted friends or family, it signals vulnerability, which often leads to empathy, comfort, and support. Sharing tears strengthens human bonds and allows for emotional healing. It also helps people regain perspective on problems, making it easier to find solutions.

However, it is important to note that excessive crying or crying without reason may indicate underlying emotional issues that need attention. In general, occasional crying is natural, therapeutic, and healthy.

In conclusion, crying is more than just an emotional response; it is a natural way to release stress, enhance emotional health, and connect with others. Allowing oneself to cry occasionally is not a sign of weakness but a healthy way to maintain mental and physical well-being.

A. A paragraph narrating an event from your life when you were involved in contagious laughter

One of the most unforgettable moments of my life was when I experienced contagious laughter during a school cultural program. It happened when our class was performing a short skit, and one of my friends, who was playing the role of a clumsy waiter, accidentally tripped over a prop tray while delivering imaginary food. The tray fell, scattering the “plates” all over the stage, and his exaggerated reaction of pretending to faint made the audience, including our teachers, burst into laughter. At that moment, I couldn’t stop laughing either. What started as a few chuckles soon turned into uncontrollable laughter, spreading to everyone around me. Even some of our classmates who were supposed to act seriously joined in laughing. The more we laughed, the harder it became to continue the skit, and our teacher had to pause the performance for a few minutes. I remember feeling an amazing sense of joy and lightness, as if all worries had disappeared for a while. The laughter was contagious because it was genuine, spontaneous, and heartfelt. This experience taught me how laughter can instantly lift the mood, create shared happiness, and strengthen bonds with friends. Even today, when I recall that moment, I can’t help smiling, proving that contagious laughter has a special power to bring people together.


B. A description of your favourite comedian explaining his/her personality, acting, performance, and uniqueness

My favourite comedian is Madan Krishna Shrestha, a legendary figure in Nepali entertainment. His personality is a perfect blend of wit, charm, and humility, which makes him approachable and loved by audiences of all ages. Madan Krishna Shrestha is not only humorous but also socially conscious. Many of his performances convey important messages about society, politics, and human behaviour while keeping the audience thoroughly entertained.

His acting is highly expressive. Through his facial expressions, gestures, and impeccable timing, he brings even simple jokes to life. His ability to switch effortlessly between different characters adds depth and versatility to his performances. Whether portraying a naive villager, a clever politician, or an ordinary citizen, he always keeps the audience engaged.
