IELTS Speaking – Part 2 (Long Turn – 300 words)
Cue
Card:
Describe a place near your home
where you like to spend time.
Sample
Answer (≈300 words):
A
place near my current home in Gaidakot, Nawalpur, where I like to spend
time is the riverbank of the Narayani River. It is about ten minutes
away from my house and is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle.
I
usually visit this place in the early morning or late evening. When I am
there, I enjoy walking along the riverbank while watching the flowing water and
the surrounding natural scenery. Sometimes, I sit quietly on a rock, listen to
soft music, or simply observe people passing by. On weekends, I also go there
with friends, where we talk about life, future plans, and current issues.
Occasionally, I take photos of the river and the sunset, which I find very
relaxing.
I
go to this place three to four times a week, especially when I feel
stressed or mentally tired. Even a short visit makes me feel refreshed and
calm.
I
like this place mainly because it offers a peaceful and natural environment
away from traffic noise and daily pressure. The sound of the river and the
fresh air help me clear my mind and improve my concentration. Moreover,
spending time there has become a healthy habit that supports both my physical
and mental well-being. In today’s fast-paced life, such natural places are extremely
important, and that is why this riverbank is one of my favorite places to spend
time.
