2 PRONOUN (सर्वनाम)
Definition
A pronoun
is a word used instead of a noun.
संज्ञाको सट्टा प्रयोग हुने शब्दलाई सर्वनाम भनिन्छ।
a) Personal Pronoun (व्यक्तिवाचक सर्वनाम)
Examples: I, we, you, he, she, it, they
1.
I am a student.
म विद्यार्थी हुँ।
2.
He lives in Chitwan.
ऊ चितवनमा बस्छ।
3.
She is my best friend.
उनी मेरी सबैभन्दा मिल्ने साथी हुन्।
4.
They are playing football.
उनीहरू फुटबल खेलिरहेका छन्।
5.
We will go to school tomorrow.
हामी भोलि विद्यालय जानेछौं।
b) Possessive Pronoun (सम्बन्धवाचक सर्वनाम)
Examples: mine, yours, his, hers, theirs
1.
This
bag is mine.
यो झोला मेरो हो।
2.
That
house is hers.
त्यो घर उनको हो।
3.
This
pen is yours.
यो कलम तिम्रो हो।
4.
The
fault is his.
गल्ती उसको हो।
5.
The
land is theirs.
जमिन उनीहरूको हो।
c) Reflexive Pronoun (आत्मवाचक सर्वनाम)
Examples: myself, yourself, himself, herself,
themselves
1.
I
taught myself English.
मैले आफैंलाई अंग्रेजी सिकाएँ।
2.
He
blamed himself.
उसले आफैंलाई दोष दियो।
3.
She
hurt herself.
उनले आफैंलाई चोट लगाइन्।
4.
We
prepared ourselves for the exam.
हामीले परीक्षाको लागि आफूलाई तयार गर्यौं।
5.
They
introduced themselves.
उनीहरूले आफैंलाई परिचय गराए।
d) Demonstrative Pronoun (संकेतवाचक सर्वनाम)
Examples: this, that, these, those
1.
This is my book.
यो मेरो किताब हो।
2.
That is a beautiful temple.
त्यो सुन्दर मन्दिर हो।
3.
These are my shoes.
यी मेरा जुत्ता हुन्।
4.
Those are tall trees.
ती अग्ला रुखहरू हुन्।
5.
This is what I need.
मलाई चाहिएको यही हो।
e) Relative Pronoun (सम्बन्धवाचक सर्वनाम)
Examples: who, which, that, whom, whose
1.
The
girl who is singing is my sister.
👉 जो केटी गाइरहेकी छे, ऊ मेरी बहिनी हो।
2.
This
is the book which I lost.
👉 यो त्यो किताब हो जुन मैले हराएँ।
3.
The
man who helped me is a teacher.
👉 जसले मलाई मद्दत गर्यो, ऊ शिक्षक हो।
4.
I
know the boy whose father is a doctor.
👉 जसको बुबा डाक्टर हुनुहुन्छ, त्यो केटालाई म चिन्छु।
5.
This
is the pen that I bought yesterday.
👉 यो त्यो कलम हो जुन मैले हिजो किनेको थिएँ।
