Model Answer 1:

Dear Emily,

I hope you're doing great! I was so excited to receive your letter yesterday. Today, I'm writing to tell you about an amazing wedding ceremony I recently attended and it was truly a celebration to remember!

It was the marriage of my cousin, Priya, and it took place here in Jaipur, the cultural heart of Rajasthan. The entire event spanned three days, beginning with the Mehendi ceremony, where all the women had their hands beautifully decorated with henna. The next day was the Sangeet, which was filled with music, dance, and performances by family members. The final day was the wedding itself, held in a traditional palace venue, adorned with vibrant marigold garlands and fairy lights. Everyone wore colourful ethnic attire, and the food - oh, you would have loved it! From spicy curries to sweet gulab jamuns, every dish was mouthwatering.

I truly wish you could have been here. It made me realise how much you would enjoy the culture, colours, and warmth of Indian celebrations. Why don’t you plan a visit sometime soon? I’d love to show you around and give you a real taste of our traditions.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Warm wishes,

Nandini

Model Answer:

Dear Farah,

I hope you’re doing great! The other day, I remember you mentioned that you’re looking for a music teacher for your child. Since I was busy preparing food, I did not talk to you in detail about it. You'd be glad to know that I have the perfect recommendation for you.

My friend Anup from school is an experienced music teacher who has been teaching children for over 7 years. I can assure you that he is highly skilled in guitar and violin and also has a great way of making lessons both  educational and fun. I am quite positive that he would be a great music teacher for your child. Anil holds a degree in education and a diploma in music and has worked with students of all ages, helping them develop strong musical skills and a love for music.

If you’d like to get in touch, you can reach Anil at +12554654978 or anil124.music(at).gmail.com. I’m sure he would be happy to discuss lessons and find a suitable schedule for your child.

Model Answer:

Dear Bob,

I understand how challenging it can become to choose a good elementary school for our children these days. So, here, as you requested, I'll try to provide some information on the elementary school, attended by my younger cousin, but please verify all the information before making a final decision.

The school, attended by my cousin, has a good reputation for grooming the little ones by providing them with a “semi-structured” learning environment where they can learn and say anything they wish. The school also has several great “after school” programmes, through which the children don’t only have fun, but also learn many important and practical things. But, the best part is, they don’t have any homework – something that your child is certainly going to enjoy! In other words, they learn everything at their school! And all these come at a rather reasonable price, in comparison with the other schools.

So, I think that you should get your child admitted there because he is not only going to enjoy learning there, but also he is going to do so at his own pace without any burden of extra study work at home.

Model Answer:

Dear Julian,

Email & Messaging

Thank you so much for writing to me and giving details about yourself. I'm also glad to know that you're doing fine with your studies and work.

As for your question regarding how I'm doing with my studies, it's not exactly going too well because I'm a bit overwhelmed with my studies now.  In fact, now I'm spending a lot more time than usual studying because I'm preparing for my 6th-semester final exams. I'm somewhat done with my revisions for all the major subjects except “Business Finance” and "Management Information System" – two subjects I'm currently struggling with.

Of course, I've already met the teachers of these subjects a few times to discuss and understand a few critical topics, but I'm still not too sure that I actually understand them! I need to study more to secure a good grade.

So, it's fair to say that I'm a bit nervous now because if I don’t do well in these subjects this semester, my overall grade is probably going to be affected a bit more negatively than I had initially thought. After all, my previous grades haven’t really been that good. So, please wish me luck!

Best regards,

Siyam

Dear Jessica,

I'm so glad to hear from you after a long time.  I'm also very happy that your parents are planning to visit the area where I live.  So, any idea as to exactly what time of the year your parents are planning to visit?  But, if I were them, I'd visit it during the spring because that’s when it becomes alive and more enjoyable due to the formation of some “bird colony”.

They can also visit the large shopping mall during the daytime while visiting the small restaurants near the river during the evening.  They can enjoy some affordable but fresh food, in addition to visiting a famous but old olive garden there.  But, if they are not into any of these things, I'd be more than happy to accompany them to some temples, the museum, and also perhaps meet some very generous local residents.

By the way, once they visit here, they can stay at one of the hotels on north Rupel Street since they are not only affordable but also close to the downtown.

Hope to meet them soon.  Talk to you again!

Best wishes,

Emma
